Installing SAND CDBMS for UNIX
To begin installing SAND CDBMS software from CD-ROM onto a UNIX system, first log in to the system as "root". Then change directory to the SAND CDBMS CD-ROM root directory or the directory where the SAND CDBMS install files reside, and mount the CD-ROM as follows (devices may vary):
HP-UX
mount -r /dev/dsk/c1t2d0 /cdromSolaris
mount -o ro -f hsfs /dev/dsk/c1t6d0s0 /mntAIX
use smit to mount the CD-ROMRed Hat Linux
mount /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdromSuSE Linux
mount /dev/cdrom /mnt
Then execute the following command:
./installnucleus
The install process takes you through the following steps:
Note:
The SAND CDBMS reference ("man") pages are installed in the appropriate directories during setup. They can be added to the whatis database with the following command:
catman -w
This will recreate the whatis database without reformatting the reference pages.
