Deutsche Post Direkt decided to adopt SAND CDBMS from SAND Technology, on the basis of its superior performance and ease of use compared to other approaches. Because SAND CDBMS requires no indexes or data schema design, all the data — down to the smallest detail — is immediately available for querying as soon as it is loaded. Also, the size of the database is much smaller than an equivalent relational data-base, yet it still allows for complex queries against any and all of the data fields.
