Shutting Down an Octopus Instance

OCTOSHUTDOWN

The OCTOSHUTDOWN command shuts down the specified Octopus instance.

Syntax:

octoshutdown [-force] [-quiet] octopus-instance-name


Options:

-force Suppresses prompts
-quiet Suppresses echoing of program output

 

Refreshing Octopus Users' Database Views

REFRESH

The REFRESH command executes the octorefresh operation for the specified Octopus instance. This refreshes all database server engines (OctoEng's) controlled by the instance with the latest version of the database (for details, consult the Octopus Administrator's Guide).

Syntax:

refresh [-force] [-quiet] octopus-instance-name


Options:

-force Suppresses prompts
-quiet Suppresses echoing of program output


Resetting the Octopus Log File

ROLLLOG

The ROLLLOG command executes the octorolllog operation for the specified Octopus instance. This archives the current log file and begins a new one (for details, consult the Octopus Administrator's Guide).

Syntax:

rolllog [-force] [-quiet] octopus-instance-name

Options:

-force Suppresses prompts
-quiet Suppresses echoing of program output
