Business Challenge
RI-Solution GmbH needed a way to manage the exploding volumes of data in a customer's SAP NetWeaver BI installation and maintain agreed levels of data warehouse service. In particular, they required a means of dealing with large amounts of SAP Persistent Staging Area (PSA) data that threatened to reduce system responsiveness.
SAND/DNA Solution
RI-Solution chose SAND/DNA for SAP BI because of its ability to compress selected SAP BI data by more than 85% while still keeping it immediately accessible for analysis or for building new ODS Objects and InfoCubes. Implementation of the SAND/DNA nearline solution greatly reduced the volume of data stored online in the customer's SAP NetWeaver BI system, optimizing performance of standard data management processes and permitting continued satsifaction of Service Level Agreements. Furthermore, since the original PSA data was not simply erased or archived, it was still possible to access the required information quickly.
