Job description
Successful candidates will act as SAND's points of contact with customers and prospective customers on technical matters. Acting on their own or as part of a team, they will design, demonstrate, and deploy the market's leading intelligent information management solutions.

Tasks and responsibilities
- Definition and validation of appropriate solutions for customers
- Responsible for developing and managing the overall project plan for the customer, including:
- Definition and maintenance of customer project schedules and deliverables
- Preparation of statements of work, management of risk items, tracking of action items and customer-specific software bugs
- Preparation of installation reports
- Tracking of project deliverables
- On-site product installation, customization, and integration
- Management of customers' technical expectations on-site
- Participation in pre-sales technical support and product demonstrations
- Participation in writing system documentation including installation procedures and training guides
- Participation in customer support plan
- Provision of customer training when required
- Provision of technical input to RFP responses.
Professional and personal qualifications
- Ability to install and configure software with minimum supervision
- Ability to understand customer requirements without extensive documentation from the customer
- Ability to work with sales organization to prepare customer presentations and quotations
- Ability to manage customer expectations during system acceptance phase
- Ability to host technically-focused meetings, within the company and with customers
- Ability to present architectural solutions to customers
- Proven track record of working with demanding customers in a data warehousing environment
- Record of successfully deploying large system projects
- Good business skills and initiative
- Self-motivated
- Willingness to travel.
Academic and technical knowledge requirements
- University/college degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent
- Good knowledge of database concepts and the SQL language
- Good knowledge of UNIX and Windows operating systems and scripting environments
- SAP BI knowledge would be an asset
Experience
- 3 years experience working in a database or information management environment
- Experience in pre-sales and post-sales environment
- Experience integrating and testing large software systems
- Experience managing large system projects.
